Grand Origin

Welcome to a place for the living history in each one of us to be uncovered and honored.

About Grand Origin

Our personal histories are as rich and multifaceted as each one of us. For many, especially those with ancestors from the Cape Coast region of Gomoa Fetteh, Ghana, these histories may be covered with a shroud of mystery and forgetting.

By sharing resources and experiences, we can assist each other in learning our stories and uncovering our rich past. Each of us has a place we come from, and a story about how we came from there, and who brought us along the way. Each of us has a grand origin.

“One of the most meaningful tasks I have undertaken for myself and for my family has been to uncover the story of where we are from, and the lives that converged to give rise to our own. This simple, persistent work has led to many priceless conversations and discoveries.”
