Planning to visit Ghana soon? Know Before You Go

Our most asked questions—answered clearly so you can focus on the experience.

Should I Stay at a Hotel or AirBnb?2025-10-15T20:32:46+00:00

We suggest a resort, hotel or guest house if you are traveling here for the first time. Further below are some well-known venues in the Gomoa Fetteh area. Have some other suggestions? Email them to us at info@grandorigin.org.

Do I need a Visa to visit Ghana?2025-10-15T20:33:03+00:00

Yes. A visa is needed for persons entering from some countries. It is best to check with the Ghana embassy located in your country. Those traveling from the United States will need a visa.

Do they take dollars (USD) in Ghana?2025-10-15T20:33:04+00:00

Some places do but you are advised to exchange your dollars (or other currencies) into cedis once you enter the country. The exchange rate in Ghana depends on the denomination of the dollar bill. For instance, $200 in 100-dollar bills will get you more cedis compared to $200 in 50-dollar bills or 20-dollar bills. It is recommended to bring new 100-dollar bills or use your debit card for the most favorable exchange rate.

Can I finance my trip?2025-10-15T20:33:04+00:00

Absolutely! Trips are financed through UpLift with a required credit check. You have the option to pay monthly. Contact ‘Around The World With Ashley’ for more details.
